Title: Hope
It had been a long journey. Sharvin had lost counts of the days and nights, during all those nights, he had been living in fear. In the past, he would always wake up early in the morning, to help his mother with leaves-picking, the jobs of many people in Sri Lankan. “Please...”, Sharvin begged her mother persuasively, “let me help you.”
As his mother did not want him to get tired, she turned him down his offer.
His parents were stunned upon hearing that they had not been granted the citizenship. Her mother shouted “this is unfair! “
When the official language of the country was changed to Sinhala, Sharvin mother found that it was hard to accept, as they had minimum knowledge on the language Sinhala. Jobs were also hard to find, if Sinhala was made the official language of the country. However, they saw a sigh of relief, when they heard that official documents would be printed in three languages.
“We will get through this together! “, exclaimed one of the Pro-Tamil Tigers member. A group of people had decided to use violence to ensure that the Tamils living in Sri Lanka would be treated equally. Ever since the arrival of the liberation of tamail Tiger Eelam (LTTE) came, there were riots everywhere, many people were seen lying on the floor, all covered with blood. Everything was in a mass, shoutings could be heard everywhere. Occasionally, sounds of gun fires and bombs were also heard. These were the days he had never anticipated.
He growled, “Why are all these happening to us?”
“They are here to save us! “His mother mumbled.
Sharvin hollered,” Are they really helping us?”
He continued and exclaimed, “Ever since their arrival, chaos has been surrounding our neighborhoods.”
“When you grow up, you will understand the matter,” Sharvin mother chanted.
The old days had pass, so were the old happy times. In the past, they would see many tourists touring around their neighborhood. However, the places, once used to be filled with laughter, had since became a quiet place. Sharvin and his parents watched the riots go on helplessly.
Sharvin pondered and asked his mother, “Can I help the LTTE?”
Although sharvin mother supported the LTTE, she does not want to see his son risking his life on outside.
”NO! ” Sharvin mother shouted, feeling frustrated, “I don’t want lose you!”
Sharvin felt disappointed as he had longed for peaceful days to come. However, a few weeks the leader of the LTTE was killed.
Will this mark the arrival of peaceful days?
Or the worst has yet to come?

Thus, when the official language of the country was changed to sinhala, it would definitely be difficult for them to accept as it was a language they had minimum knowledge on. Jobs will be hard to find if sinhala was the official language. However, they were relived when they heard that official documents would be printed in three languages.
“We will get through this together! “, exclaimed one of the pro-tamil tigers member. A group of people has decided to resolve to violence to ensure that the tamils living in Sri Lanka would be treated fairly. Although the LTTE leader has been killed recently, how long would their peaceful days last for?

Many conflict soon aroused after the british left and sri lanka gained its independence in 1948. His parents were stunned upon hearing that they had not been granted the citizenship. Sharvin would not have been affected by it, however, her parents who weremigrants from india would definately be furious upon hearing this news. Her mother growled “ this is horrendous!",as she continued her faced turn pale," they are only trying to chase us away!" demanded sharvin mother. His parents discussed on this issues for night before another. Before they had a chance to plan for their future in sri lanka another issue soon aroused, the official language of the country has been changed to Sinhala! It would definitely be difficult for them to accept as it was a languages they had bare knowledge on. They were relived when they heard that official documents would be printed in three languages. As sharvin is a tamil, it would definitely be a disadvantage for him when the university criteria has been in favour of the Sinhalese.

A group of people has decided to resolve to violence to ensure that the tamils living in Sri Lanka would be treated fairly. It has been a long journey. Sharvin had lost counts of the days and nights. But all those nights were dimly lighted for him, there was lots of people gathering everywhere, making it almost impossible to find your neighbours who lives just next to you. Everything was in a mess, loud shouting could be heard every now and than, occasionally sounds of gunfires and bombs were also heard. These were the days he had never wanted to happen, but had no choice but to see it happened in their own eyes. He growled,” why are all this things happening?", his mother replied, " its for our benefit."
The old days has gone, so has the old happy times. The ships that had always came streaming in the past has gone far away. In the past where many special faces were seen at most of the tourist attraction has all gone. These places which once used to be filled with laughter has became very quiet. Both his parents were at home everyday doing all the house chores times and again, apparently, it seems to sharvin, that they were jobless. They did not have three meals a day, sometimes, with one meals a day, they would have felt very appreciated. Not long after, sharvin and his family were force to move out of their home. “ I do not want to move! “ shouted sharvin. But, it was all too late, no matter how he had shouted he could not escape from his fate of moving away from the place where he has fond memories of and live since he was born. Everyone on the streets were filled with sorrow, all of them did not wanted to live the place but they had no choice. Although they left the place with a heavy heart, they had no choice but to see their own homes being raided.

I enjoy playing with my guitar during my free times. As I had just picked up guitar lessons only recently I have to start to learn about everything from scratch.
I enjoyed talking to my friends in school, they make my day complete.
My choice of career would be an executive assistant manager in a hotel. Its job scope is to oversee the operations and sales in the hotel. Most importantly we also have to increase the revenue of the hotel by optimizing sales and managing the expenses and operational needs. In my opinion I believe that working in the tourism would be a perfect choice for me as Singapore is progressing into providing services and becoming a tourist attraction in Asia. This includes the building of the ir resort and Singapore’s first casino in Singapore. Therefore, with this in mind I believe that the tourist sector would be a booming industry for the coming years. Being in this industry also allows me to be able interact with tourist from different countries!

It was past midnight, we were on our way to catch a movie at a cinema, but unfortunately, when we reached the cinema we were fill with disappointment. As the last timing for the show was just before midnight, we had to move on to another activity.
When we on our way to grab a bite of roti prata, we drove past china town. China town was filled with people celebrating Chinese new year, and we were also very lucky that when we drove past fireworks started.. Soon after, there was a heavy traffic jam at china town.
On the first day of Chinese new year, I woke up at about 10 and started to move off to our relative houses at only 1030a.m. This year we started to move off rather late, as we started to move off starting from as early as 8 a.m. in the morning. We proceed to our relatives house till about evening. I waited excitedly for the lion dance to come to our house at night. Just before the lion dance was about to start, my relatives started rushing into my house. There was also a few rekatives of mine, who managed to catch a glimpse of the lion dance. What was surprising about the lion dance was that there was at the end of the lion dance they shot poppers! This was a rather new trend as it was not popular to shoot poppers at the end of the lion dance.
The lion dance also used oranges to come out with four lucky numbers. Soon after that, my uncle started to rearrange the numbers on the floor to their own lucky numbers! Soon after the poppers were shot my whole living room was filled with bits of the poppers. As it was a tradition that we could not use a broom to sweep the floor, we cracked our brain, and we finally resolve to using the vacumm to sweep the floor!
The first day of Chinese new year ended sadly for me as I had lost three-quarter of my red packets money on gambling.
